Ibrahim Mohammad Hassan, a journalist from Taiz, was killed in a bomb explosion in the city, according to NBC News. He was a freelance journalist who covered all facets of Yemeni life, including politics, culture and sports.
“My loss is tremendous. Ibrahim was a cameraman and a good journalist. He covered all Yemen’s news, whether it was combat, theater, or sport,” said Mohamed Bin Ali Mahmud, a close friend of Hassan’s.

Hassan was born in Yemen in 1976 and lived in Taiz until his 2011 defection from the police.
Bin Ali Mahmud said he is devastated by Hassan’s death, and called on all Yemenis to stand together for peace in their country.
“Let his death be a wake-up call to all in Yemen to stand together against the destructive and useless Houthi militia in our country,” he said.
