“Aston Martin are the perfect partner for Formula One to push the frontiers of technological innovation, fuel efficiency and durability,” Vettel said in a statement. “There’s no question that we need more performance out of the engines, and Aston will help us unlock power in a more efficient way, whilst still allowing for a degree of entertainment.
“Racing at the limits will be a real test of our engineers’ skills and agility, and Aston Martin F1 will provide great support for us. I’m so impressed with Aston Martin Cars and their performance record and their innovative design. I look forward to building on this and developing technology that will have global implications.”
Since returning to F1 in 2010, Vettel has won back-to-back championships. In 2015, the team reached its most recent World Championship milestone, when Vettel won the Russian Grand Prix, the first race to honor the centenary of the Amelia Awards for Female Motorsports Achievement. Last year, Vettel triumphed in the British Grand Prix for the fourth time.
